Pomegranate and strawberry red wine sangria
A sweetly refreshing chilled red wine sangria with pomegranate, strawberries and lots of fresh mint.

Ingredients
- 1 bottle red wine, (750ml) grenache or red wine of your choice
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- ¼ cup cointreau
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds, (seeds from one pomegranate fruit)
- 1 punnet strawberries, (250g) sliced, or substitute sliced orange if unavailable
- 4-5 sprigs fresh mint
- 1-2 cups soda water, (club soda)
Instructions
- For best results start with chilled red wine, pomegranate juice and soda water.
- Put pomegranate seeds and sliced strawberries into a large jug or pitcher.
- Top with red wine, cointreau and mint, before topping up with soda water.
- Serve over ice, and spoon some strawberry slices and pomegranate seeds into each glass.
Notes
Everything can be made ahead of time and left in the fridge to chill, then topped up with soda water just before serving, if that suits your plans on the day.
